The Mayflower Stewardship Ministry Team understands that giving money for the work of Mayflower is an action that makes a difference in our vision to achieve God’s dream of justice on earth.

We began a recent meeting by listening to Holly Near’s song, “Singing for Our Lives”:

We are a gentle, angry people
and we are singing, singing for our lives
We are a justice-seeking people
and we are singing, singing for our lives
We are young and old together
and we are singing, singing for our lives
We are a land of many colors
and we are singing, singing for our lives
We are gay and straight together
and we are singing, singing for our lives
We are a gentle, loving people
and we are singing, singing for our lives

(Feel free to sing along with the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus.)

It occurred to our team that, in these times especially, we are also giving for our lives. Our planet, our humanity, our faith depend on financial support to combat the more and more obvious presence of evil among us.

Our recent pledge drive is an example of Mayflower giving for our lives. 235 pledges totaled $616,147; this compares to 207 pledges totaling $578,247 for 2016.

The Stewardship Ministry Team is pleased that members and friends of Mayflower are deciding that together we can make the world more like what God has in mind. Thank you to all who pledge.
