An Attitude of Gratitude Improves Your Health

Hurray, it is finally spring! After a long winter, we are so grateful for spring sun and flowers. In addition to our gratitude for the new season, we invite you to consider spiritual care for your heart by adopting an Attitude of Gratitude. Here are some of the benefits of focusing on gratitude:

  • Just 15 minutes a day focusing on the things you are grateful for will significantly increase your body’s natural antibodies.
  • Grateful people are less vulnerable to clinical depression.
  • A grateful state of mind reduces physical stress and is associated with healthier blood pressure and heart rate.
  • An attitude of gratitude provides strength in times of challenge and pain.
  • You cannot be both angry and grateful at the same time. Focusing on gratitude helps you stay calm and see opportunities and options. It helps you be less bothered by life’s little annoyances.
  • Our own attitude is one area of life over which we have full control!

It takes practice. Look around. There are so many things for us to notice and to say, “Thank you, God.” It will help your physical health to recognize God’s presence in every aspect of your life.
