Rediscovering the Bible: Isaiah

February 17 @ 9:45 am - 10:45 am

Sundays, 9:45 am, starting Sept 16, Study 1

Join us for a discussion that is both fun and informative. We will get to know at least three prophet-poets included in the book of Isaiah, which covers more than 200 years of the most eventful time in the history of the ancient Jewish people. It was at that time, in the midst of threats to their very existence, that our spiritual ancestors truly embraced the worship of the one God. It is Isaiah’s writings, most of all, that the followers of Jesus turned to understand the amazing events they had lived through during his life and death.

We will be guided by the commentary Isaiah, (in two volumes) by Walter Bruggemann. We recommend you obtain a copy, but it’s not required. We welcome drop-ins as well as regular attenders, whether you have read the book or not. Contact Jeff Richards at jeff.h.richards@comcast.net or (952) 894.6145.
