Trust is different from agreement. When it comes to what divides us today as a society, trust is more important than agreement. The good news is we can create the conditions where trust is more likely to be engendered. This is the mission of the Twin Cities Social Cohesion Initiative: a mission to weave the social fabric of the metropolitan community, bridging divides across disparities, diversity, and polarization. A mission that has been actively supported by the Mayflower congregation since its inception.
Rev. Dirk Ficca is executive director of the Initiative. He also serves as a senior advisor to the World of Neighbors initiative of the Church of Sweden, addressing the refugee and migrant reception crisis in Europe.
