Renowned Preacher And Gospel Singer To Speak On Feb. 13 Yvette Flunder, gospel singer and pastor of San Francisco's City of Refuge United Church of Christ, will bring her powerful message of radical inclusion to the Twin Cities in February. Judy Jungwirth Recognized by Star Tribune Mayflower member Judy Jungwirth was recently highlighted in the Star Tribune for still playing hockey at age 68. Thrown off of a Minneapolis Park Board youth hockey team in the early 1950s for being a girl, Judy is scheduled to receive a national award in February during National Girls and Women in Sports Day. She now plays hockey regularly on a team of the Women's Hockey Association of Minnesota, a league she helped establish, according to the newspaper article.
Volunteers needed for TRUST Builders Day on Feb. 11 and Mar. 10 The TRUST group of South Minneapolis churches, of which Mayflower is a member, is looking for members of our congregation to work with Urban Homeworks.
