Growing Together
In these times, we’re doing faith formation differently to keep us safe and healthy. Here, on this new blog, every day you’ll find a video of Eli’jah reading from Desmond Tutu’s Children of God Storybook Bible, plus a child-friendly reflection and three prayers for your day.
May 9: Oh, the Places You’ll Go
Can you imagine going places again?!? Today’s reading is a book that I really love by Dr. Seuss called, “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” I thought about this book a lot as I wrote last Sunday’s meditation (a meditation is a short sermon. A sermon is when the person talks about one theme from the podium as the front of the church on Sundays.)
It is hard to think that we will again be able to leave our homes to go and play, to hug our friends again, to go to school, to go our for ice cream, and so many other things. I hope this story can help you remember that some day, we’ll be able to do these things again, and so much more!
Daily Prayers
In the morning when we wake up: May today bring joy in new ways. Amen.
At mealtimes: Dear God, thank you for health. Thank you for the earth. Thank you for the hands and hearts that made this food. May the earth and your people be healthy. Amen.
Bedtime: Dear God, thank you for resting from the top of my head down to my toes. Your love will be with me even in my sleep. Amen.
