Council invites you to share your stories about who you are in this time and your hopes for our community. We ask you to prayerfully think and reflect on the following question:

“Given the enormity of critical issues we continue to face, what stories do we need to tell and what stories do we need to hear, that may help us collectively envision what Mayflower Church is called to be in the next five years?”

Sharing our stories may take some thought and time and there are several ways in which we can create our narratives. A trusted team led by Tony Dodge will be collecting our stories and looking for themes that will be shared with the congregation, Leadership Team and Council.

There are various ways to participate:

Write your story down in an electronic or paper document and send it:

  • via email to tdodge@mayflowermpls.org; or
  • U.S. Mail to Mayflower UCC – ATTN: Tony Dodge at 106 E. Diamond Lake Road Minneapolis, MN 55419

Record your story, video or audio (2 minutes or less) and send to tdodge@mayflowermpls.org.

Attend a small group Zoom meeting to share your story. These meetings will be recorded so we can capture all of the stories. Contact Becky McIntosh at mcintoshbec@yahoo.com or call 612-825-4540 to sign up for one of these times:

  • Thursday, September 30, at 7:30 pm
  • Sunday, October 3, at 9:30 am
  • Wednesday, October 6, at 7:30 pm
  • Tuesday, October 12, at 7:30 pm
  • Thursday, October 14, at 7:30 pm
  • Sunday, October 17, at 9:30 am

It is important to share our stories to more deeply engage with our beloved community, after being away from each other for a while. Our collection of narratives will help Council and the Leadership Team expand the vision for the future of this community, as they seek to update the strategic plan and mission for Mayflower Church.

We look forward to listening to our sacred stories and our hopes for our community.
