Volunteer on Sunday Mornings
Welcome Desk volunteers and ushers are still needed for this church year. Sign up now and offer the gift of a warm welcome to each person who walks through the doors.
Welcome Desk Team: Flexible schedule – sign up for a regular Sunday (once a month) or schedule yourself as available throughout the year. Choose either the 8:30 or 11:00 am service, being able to arrive 15 minutes before the service and return to the desk after the service for about 10 minutes. Duties mainly involve being at the Welcome Desk to greet people, hand out name tags, display information as provided by church ministries. If you are concerned about ‘not knowing enough’ don’t be. Most questions are of a simple nature. You’ll get to know “the regulars” who attend every Sunday and also meet visitors coming to Mayflower for the first time. Usher Team: Volunteer to usher once per month on a regular schedule at either the 8:30 or 11:00 service. Our critical needs are for the fourth Sunday of each month at 8:30 am and the first Sunday of each month at 11:00 am as well as for subs to step when scheduled volunteers are unavailable. You will welcome folks, collect and secure the offering, provide direction during communion, assure the sanctuary safety, and clean up following the service.
